St. Zeno (Herrischried)
St. Zeno is a Catholic church in Herrischried in the Waldshut district . It is the seat of the parish of the same name in the pastoral care unit Rickenbach-Herrischried. The patron saint of the church is Saint Zenon of Verona .
history
The first church, consecrated in 1594, burned down in 1828. There are almost no traces left of her. The architect Christoph Arnold drew up plans for the new building, but they were never implemented. Instead, the design by the local carpenter Bernhard Eckert was carried out. In 1849 this building was again destroyed by fire. The current building was then built.
The extensive renovation in 1913 was in the hands of Raimund Jeblinger . He created today's classicist interior of the church. World War I delayed completion until the beginning of the 1920s. During the last major renovation, a gray and white marble floor was laid and new oak benches were made.
organ
The church is equipped with an organ by the Überlingen master Xaver Mönch . The organ with 20 registers, built in 1897, has been rebuilt several times in the past and has been restored since 2012.
