The StEG II 601-605 formed a series of steam locomotives operated by the Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (StEG), a private Austrian-Hungarian railway company .
The machines were supplied by the StEG locomotive factory from 1870 to 1873. They were given company numbers 601–605, category IVa and the names BANAT , VALKÁNY , PERJÁMOS , VOJTEK and GATTAJA .
The tank locomotives had an angular saddle tank, as there was little space on the machines for supplies.
The small vehicles provided their service on branch lines, came to MÁV in 1891 , which they designated as XIIe 5601-5605, and were retired before 1911.
