St John's Loch is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Council Area Highland or the traditional county of Caithness . It is located at the neck of the Dunnet Head Peninsula about eleven kilometers east of Thurso, just one kilometer east of the coast of Dunnet Bay .

The small Burn of Dunnet flows off the west bank and drains into Dunnet Bay on the other side of Dunnet .
St John's Loch has a trout population. The local fishing club also operates a trout farm there. The A836 runs along the south bank .
