Stabæk IF ( Stabæk Idrettsforening ; in German: Stabæker Sportverein ) is a Norwegian multi- sport club from the municipality of Bærum in Akershus, founded in 1912 .

history

The association was founded on March 16, 1912 in Stabekk, Bærum municipality. The name of the association is derived from the name Stabekks. Stabæk is the archaic spelling of the place Stabekks, which the club kept even after moving to Bekkestua (also part of the Bærum municipality). The most famous division of the club is the first division football team Stabæk Fotball , who won the Norwegian championship in 2008. The women's football department ( Stabæk Fotball Kvinner , Stabæk FK for short ) plays in the highest Norwegian league. The bandy department Stabæk Bandy is also extremely successful with a total of 13 championship titles.

In Handball the Stabæk IF and his department is Stabæk Håndball active and won national titles in both the men, and the women's teams. In addition, Stabæk IF also has a skiing division, Stabæk Alpin .

The ice hockey department won the Norwegian championship title in the 1946/47 season .
