Bar was a measure of length in France and Switzerland . The measure was a cubit measure . In Frankfurt am Main , only French cut goods were measured with this measure. The whole rod or the double , also called the Aune or Parisian Aune, was the measure of length in Switzerland and France. A change in size took place around 1812.
