Stacey Kent
Stacey Kent (born March 27, 1968 in South Orange , New Jersey ) is an Anglo-American jazz singer.
Live and act
Kent moved to London after studying language and literature to continue studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama .
Her first CD Close Your Eyes was released in 1997. Since then she has released more albums almost every year. In 2001 she received the British Jazz Award and in 2002 the BBC Jazz Award in the category Best Singer. Lyric was 2006, the "Album of the Year" by the BBC Jazz Awards. The album Breakfast on the Morning Tram (2007) achieved platinum status in France and gold status in Germany (in the German Jazz Award category ). Also Raconte-Moi from 2010, according to "Top 30 Jazz Albums" of the German music charts in Germany a best-selling album.
Kent is married to saxophonist Jim Tomlinson , who also arranged for their albums.
