Stacy Roest (* 15. March 1974 in Lethbridge , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player (center), who recently for Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the Swiss National League A played.

Career

As a junior he played from 1990 in the Western Hockey League for the Medicine Hat Tigers . Despite good performance there, he was not selected by the NHL teams in the NHL Entry Draft . In 1994 the Detroit Red Wings signed him for their farm team in the American Hockey League , the Adirondack Red Wings .

In the 1998/99 season he was used for the first time in the National Hockey League . After two seasons and over 100 missions, he moved to the Minnesota Wild for the 2000/01 season . There, too, he was mostly in the squad of the NHL team, but did not make the big breakthrough. For the 2002/03 season he returned to Detroit, but came only to two missions with the Red Wings. Mostly he was used again in the AHL at the Grand Rapids Griffins .

For the 2003/04 season Stacy Roest came to Switzerland and played in the National League A for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and took part in the Spengler Cup several times with Team Canada . After a total of nine years with the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, Roest ended his career at the age of 38 in April 2012.
