The Jonava Central Stadium ( Lithuanian : Jonavos centrinis stadionas ) is a stadium in the Lithuanian city of Jonava . The sports facility has an area of 13,970 m² and is the largest stadium in the Jonava district ; it has space for 3,000 spectators and is used by the football clubs Lietava Jonava , Fajetonas Jonava and Nevėžis Kėdainiai . The stadium is located in the Joninės Valley , between the Jonavos sporto arena and the Jonava Hospital .
history
The stadium was built in the second half of the 20th century on Žeimiai Street next to the Jonavas Jewish cemetery , the hospital and the Joninių slėnis . The name Zentralstadion underlines that it is the main stadium in the city. There is also the old Jonava Stadium (on the left bank of the Neris ), which is also still in operation and is usually used for training the children and young people of the Jonava Sports School.
After the independence of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic (LiSSR) from the Soviet Union in 1990, the stadium in Jonava was renewed. From 2008 to 2010 the stadium was renovated from the budget of Lithuania and the Jonava district.
