history

Stadl is mentioned for the first time in 1148 in a document from the Benediktbeuern monastery , in which a certain Otto handed over his property in Stadl to the monastery.

The Püttrich patrician dynasty ruled over Stadl from 1520 to 1595 , after which the town fell back to the Bavarian dukes. They donated it to Andechs Monastery as early as 1598 , but after a legal dispute, Stadl had to cede it to the Rauhenlechsberg Care Court .

Finally, in 1802, Stadl came to the newly founded district office of Schongau .

On January 1, 1970, the previously independent municipality was merged with Pflugdorf and incorporated into Vilgertshofen on January 1, 1972 .
