The parish village of Mundraching is about three kilometers west of Stadl on the edge of a bend in the Lech .
The St. Vitus branch church is located in Mundraching. Today's church was built on a Romanesque predecessor and heavily rebuilt by Johann Schmuzer in 1691/92 . Between 1996 and 2001 the church was extensively renovated.

history
Seven large barrows south of Mundraching are evidence of the Hallstatt period .
Mundraching is probably a settlement from the Alemannic-Bavarian period. Germanic graves from around 500–600 AD were found on the eastern outskirts of the village. In 721 the name Muntrichhinga is mentioned.
Around 1200 a local nobility is mentioned who had its seat in the Burgstall near Burgwies in Schlegelwald, three kilometers north of the village.
Later, until secularization in 1803 , Mundraching was the seat of the main Mundraching team of the Rauhenlechsberg care court .
In 1752, 23 properties are mentioned, 12 of which are available for the Rauhenlechsberg box office, six for the community, five for the Wessobrunn monastery , two for the Rottenbuch monastery and one for the Hofmark Windach . Three yards are free. The church set was owned by the Wessobrunn monastery.
Mundraching was shaped by the Lech, the river had been crossed here with rafts since the 13th century .
On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Vilgertshofen.
