The Stadtwerke Boeblingen (proper spelling SWBB) are a company of public utilities in the city of Boeblingen and active in the fields of electricity, gas, heat, water, bathrooms and parking. Stadtwerke Böblingen has also been offering electricity and gas in the entire Böblingen district and the city of Stuttgart since summer 2013 .

Business areas

The municipal utilities supply around 7,500 house connections in Böblingen in an approximately 200 km long network.

The company gains heat from the residual waste cogeneration plant in Böblingen , the heating plant "Im Grund" (over 40 MW) and several block -type thermal power stations (including in the Dagersheim district and in the Hulb industrial park) via combined heat and power . The pipeline network is around 85 km long. The municipal utilities supply around 8,500 residential units in around 2,000 buildings. The Dagersheim power plant started operations in 2009. Stadtwerke operates nine parking lots and multi-storey car parks with over 1,830 spaces for cars . This also includes the P + R facilities at the Hulb and Goldberg S-Bahn stops.

The municipal utilities also operate the outdoor and indoor swimming pools. In 2018, the outdoor pool had a record attendance of around 146,000 bathers.

Shareholders / corporate governance

The majority shareholder is the city of Böblingen. It holds 59% of the company shares. The EnBW Municipal Beteiligungen GmbH holds the remaining 41% shares. The Lord Mayor of Böblingen, Stefan Belz , is chairman of the supervisory board. Further members of the supervisory board are representatives of the parliamentary groups from the municipal council and representatives of EnBW.

Stadtwerke hold shares in Fernwärme-Transportgesellschaft (FTG), which connects the district heating networks of Böblingen and Sindelfingen.
