Staffan Isaksson (born April 20, 1952 in Luleå ) is a former Swedish football player . In 139 games in the Allsvenskan , the midfielder scored 15 goals.

career

Isaksson started playing football in his hometown at IFK Luleå . He made his debut for the club as a 16-year-old in Division 2 . 1970 surprisingly succeeded the championship in the second division Norrland and thus the qualification for the promotion round, where it went against Landskrona BoIS , Sandvikens IF and Skövde AIK . With a win and two draws, the club rose to the Allsvenskan . Isaksson appeared in 22 games in the Elite Series and scored two goals. Still, relegation was missed. In the second division, the direct rise as table eight was clearly missed and Isaksson decided to change the club.

Isaksson's new employer was the first division club Örebro SK , where he was able to establish himself as a regular player straight away. He played for the club for two years before moving to IFK Sundsvall in the second division in 1975 . There he experienced the second first division promotion of his career. When the club was relegated from Allsvenskan at the end of the 1977 season, he initially remained loyal to the club. Despite the successful immediate recovery, he moved to the first division AIK in the winter of 1978 .

However, his time at AIK began without success. After three defeats at the start, he achieved his first success of the season against his previous club, of all places. A short time later, a series of injuries began, which should overshadow his time at AIK and only allowed him to be used irregularly. At the end of his season at AIK was the third descent in both Isaksson's career and in the club's history. However, the interlude in the second division lasted only a year. After the first division season in 1981 Isaksson left AIK for IFK Östersund , where he was active until 1985. He then worked as a player-coach for several amateur clubs.

Footnotes
