The Lower Bavarian Staffelberg (793 m) is a striking, pyramid-shaped elevation in the southern Bavarian Forest directly above the town of Hauzenberg , which is part of the Passau district.
The Hauzenbergers built a small observation tower on the densely wooded summit, which offers a good view of the city and the Freudensee . There is also a summit cross and several rest benches. Three marked trails lead to the Staffelberg, all of which are quite steep: from Freudensee, Germannsdorf and Hauzenberg.
