Stanisław Kędziora

Stanisław Kędziora (born December 6, 1934 in Seligów ; † December 25, 2017 in Warsaw-Praga ) was auxiliary bishop in Warsaw-Praga .

Life

Stanisław Kędziora studied philosophy and theology at the Warsaw Metropolitan Seminary from 1953 to 1958 (Wyższe Metropolitalne Seminarium Duchowne w Warszawie). The Archbishop of Warsaw and Gniezno , Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski , donated him to priestly ordination for the Archdiocese of Warsaw on August 3, 1958 . After studying at the Catholic University of Lublin , he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD in dogmatics. Then Kędziora was until 1982 Vice Rector of the Seminary of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, where he had been teaching dogmatic theology since 1965.

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Tucci and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Warsaw on March 11, 1987 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on April 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Franciszek Macharski , Archbishop of Cracow , and Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano . As a motto he chose Secundum Verbum Tuum . In 1987 he was also appointed Vicar General in the Archdiocese of Warsaw.

On March 25, 1992 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Warsaw-Praga by John Paul II , and also vicar general of the newly founded diocese. He held other offices in the diocesan curia and the Polish bishops' conference. In 2008 he was awarded the Polonia Restituta Officer's Cross by the Polish President Lech Kaczyński for his work.

On January 5, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement. He died on Christmas 2017 after several years of serious illness.
