history

Originally founded in Toronto by friends Torquil Campbell (vocals) and Chris Seligman (keyboard), they moved via New York City to Montréal , where they live today. The band also includes Amy Millan (vocals, guitar), Evan Cranley and Pat McGee (drums).

In 2001 the band released their debut album, Nightsongs . Her first album released in Canada is Hearts (2003). Their breakthrough came with Set Yourself on Fire (2004), whose single Ageless Beauty was a huge success in Canada and made the band known in Europe. This album was only released in Germany in 2005. The formation then toured solo and as support for Bloc Party in Germany.

Torquil Campbell had several appearances as an actor in addition to his work in the band, including in the US series Sex and the City and Law & Order . There is a close connection between stars and the supergroup Broken Social Scene . Amy Millan and Evan Cranley played on Broken Social Scene, and the bands have toured together.

The group released their album In Our Bedroom After the War in July 2007 over two months before the CD was officially launched on various commercial online music services . The song The Night Starts Here was made available for free download . Her records appear in Europe on the City Slang label . In June 2010 the fifth studio album The Five Ghosts was released . Once again, the first two singles, Fixed and We Don't Want Your Body, were published free of charge on the Internet in advance.
