Broken Social Scene
Broken Social Scene is a Canadian indie rock band from Toronto, founded in 1999 .
history
Core members are Kevin Drew of KC Accidental and Brendan Canning, who released the band's debut album, Feel Good Lost , in 2001 . This was an almost exclusively instrumental post-rock album.
In the following years they gathered several musicians from the Canadian music scene, including Andrew Whiteman, the founder of Apostle of Hustle , and Leslie Feist , and finally released You Forgot It in People in autumn 2002 as an eleven-member group . This critically acclaimed album also marked the band's commercial breakthrough. It won a Juno Award for Best Alternative Album in 2003 .
In Germany the records appear on the City Slang label . The album Forgiveness Rock Record was released on May 4, 2010. The work was produced by John McEntire in Chicago and Toronto. Bands like Stars , Metric , The Sea and Cake and The Weakerthans are also guests on the album.
