The stathmopoda are a genus of butterflies from the family of Stathmopodidae .
features
The head is smoothly scaled. The antennae are about 3/4 as long as the forewings and ciliate in the males. The labial palps are cylindrical and elongated, the third segment is strongly curved upwards. The forewings are narrowly lanceolate and pointed towards the apex . They often have yellowish or brownish markings. The hind wings are very narrow and straight.
In the genitals of the males, uncus and gnathos are of equal size. The tegumen is curved. The blades have a thickened edge, the cucullus is short and rounded. The saccule is either well developed or poorly developed. The vinculum is rounded, the saccus is missing. The aedeagus is cylindrical or pointed distally . Cornuti are either present or absent.
In the female genitals, the anterior apophyses are about 1/2 to 2/3 as long as the posterior apophyses. The antrum is wide and cup-shaped or funnel-shaped. The bursal duct is fairly wide and often wrinkled. Corpus bursae with one or two signs. The seminal duct is usually long and slender, and often has variously shaped extensions. The transition region between the seminal duct and the corpus bursae is provided with variable teeth or needles.

The species of the genus are distributed worldwide and occur mainly in tropical and subtropical areas. The focus of distribution is the Orientalis .
biology
The biology of only a few species is known. Accordingly, the caterpillars live mainly in dry flowers, fruits and leaves of various plants.
