The Staubernkanzel (also Stauberenkanzel , Stauberkanzel or Stauberenchanzlen ) is a 1,860 m high summit in the Appenzell Alps in Switzerland .
location
The mountain peak lies above the municipality of Sennwald , on the border between the cantons of St. Gallen and Appenzell Innerrhoden . From here you have a view down into the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance , across to Liechtenstein and onto countless Alpine peaks .
Surname
In dialect the place is called [ ʃtɔubərə ], and the first written mention of it from 1716 is written by Stauberen . Modern maps and signposts write partly dust , partly dust . The implementation as dusting would actually be better (with the same ratio as with Swiss German "wandere" = written German "wandern").
hikes
The Staubernkanzel is located in the hiking area of the Alpstein and can be reached in various ways from the Hohen Kasten (1¾ h), the Saxer Lücke (1¼ h) or Brülisau (3 h).
Some of these trails are part of the Hoher Kasten geological hiking trail . On various boards, the hiker receives information on the geology of the area around the Hohe Kasten: For example, the origin of the Sax-Schwendi quarry is explained as well as the development of the southernmost Alpstein vault.
Below the summit, at 1751 m , lies the Berggasthaus Staubern . Since 1979, or since 2001 for passenger transport, it has been accessible from Frümsen, a district of Sennwald, with the Staubernbahn .
