Stavyshche ( Ukrainian Ставище ; Russian Ставище Stavishche ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Oblast of Zhytomyr with about 450 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1618, has belonged to the rural municipality of the village of Kvitnewe ( Квітневе ) in the east of Popilnja Raion on the border with Fastiv Raion of Kiev Oblast since 2017 .
The village is located 25 km east of the Popilnja district center and 95 km southeast of the Zhytomyr oblast center .
Personalities
- Tadej Rylskyj (1841–1902), Ukrainian social and cultural activist, journalist, ethnographer, anthropologist and economist was born in the village
- Wassyl Kutscher (1911–1967), Ukrainian-Soviet writer attended school here
