Steeg is a district of Buchbach in the Upper Bavarian district of Mühldorf am Inn on the Walkersaich district .

The church village is located southwest of Buchbach on State Road 2086 .

history

The Catholic branch church and former castle church St. Marien , a simple baroque building from the 18th century, is the last remnant of the former moated castle Steeg . The last owner, Leonhard Sinbert von Mandl, sold the castle around 1840. It was demolished in 1850.

The Freiherr von Mandl'sche patrimonial court in Steeg also existed until around 1840. The town of Steeg belonged to the Walkersaich community founded in 1818. On January 1, 1973 Steeg came to Buchbach with other areas of the dissolved Walkersaich community.
