Band history

1992-1997

After being founded in 1992, the band signed their first record deal two years later with the Augsburg label Long Island Records . In autumn 1995, the first album Mirror Images was created under the direction of producer Michael Bormann . This made it to number 9 on the Japanese import charts. Shortly after the album was released, Steel Dawn went on tour in Germany with the US band Warrant . Due to the bankruptcy of Long Island Records in 1996, the planned release in Japan and Korea was no longer possible . Professional changes and musical differences led to the dissolution of the band in 1997.

2000-2011

Three years later Ralf Bethke composed new pieces and went in search of musicians. The new formation, again with Iggo Gunzelman on bass, began recording their second album (R) EXcuse Me! . In August 2002, Conny Beck , who was born in Stuttgart, joined as the front man, whereupon the pieces had to be revised again. In June 2007, after many private and market-specific hurdles, the album (R) EXcuse me! , which is again produced by Michael Bormann and appears under his label RMB Records . In October of the same year, Steel Dawn celebrated its comeback at a concert in the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf . For health reasons, Torsten Weber (electric guitar) left the band after almost nine years, which led to the breakup of the group.

Since 2019

At the beginning of 2019 Iggo Gunzelmann and Ralf Bethke re-cast the band again. The new line-up then consisted of the Brazilian frontman Gabriel Jablinski ( vocals ), Iggo Gunzelmann (bass, backing vocals), Ralf Bethke (electric guitar, backing vocals), Markus Sacher (electric guitar) and Bernhard Göbel (drums). With a new line-up, the band appeared for the first time at the second Long Rock Festival.
