Stefan Hageneier

Stefan Hageneier (* 1972 in Oberammergau ) is a German stage and costume designer as well as professor for stage and costume design at the Berlin-Weissensee School of Art . He lives in Munich.

biography

Stefan Hageneier learned the profession of wood sculptor . In 1991 he joined the Münchner Kammerspiele as an assistant . He has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer since 1996.

From 2001 to 2011 he was employed as a permanent stage and costume designer at the Bavarian State Theater. In addition, he had engagements at numerous German-speaking theaters. His stations: Thalia Theater Hamburg , Münchner Kammerspiele , Münchner Volkstheater , Schaubühne Berlin , Berliner Ensemble , Burgtheater Vienna , Schauspielhaus Wien , Schauspiel Bonn , Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf , Staatstheater Hannover , Schauspielhaus Zürich , State Opera Munich , State Opera Hamburg , Opera de la Monnaie Brussels , Passion Play Theater Oberammergau.

He works with numerous directors. These include Christian Stückl , Robert Wilson , Benedict Andrews, Florian Boesch, Martin Kusej, Harald Clemen, Dieter Dorn , Thomas Langhoff , Katharina Thoma, James McDonald, Franz Xaver Kroetz , Yoshi Oida, Thomas Dannemann, Marius von Mayenburg and Tina Lanik .

In 2000 and 2010, Stefan Hageneier designed the sets and costumes for the Passion Play in Oberammergau . He is also responsible for the costumes and set design for the major theater and opera productions that take place annually in Oberammergau, for example in 2011 for “ Joseph und seine Brüder ” by Thomas Mann or in 2015 for “ Nabucco ” by Giuseppe Verdi . Together with director Christian Stückl, he developed the performances of the opera “ Palestrina ” by Hans Pfitzner in 2009 and “Ariadne auf Naxos” by Richard Strauss in 2011 .

Since 2011, Stefan Hageneier has been Professor of Stage and Costume Design at the Berlin-Weissensee School of Art .
