Stefan Krauss (born June 25, 1967 in Berchtesgaden ) is a former German ski racer .

Krauss started skiing at the age of six on the initiative of his parents. In 1993 he won the Super G at the International German Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1993. In addition, the four-time German champion Krauss, who started for the Berchtesgaden ski club and was a member of the German national alpine skiing team from 1983 to 1998, was German downhill champion in 1997 and 1998. In three of his five world championship appearances, the 1.81-meter-tall Krauss, who weighed 86 kg in competition during his playing days, was among the top twenty participants. In Morioka / Japan in 1993 he was 15th in downhill skiing, 20th in downhill skiing at the 1996 World Cup , in Sestriere 1997 he reached eleventh place in the Super-G and 17th in downhill skiing. His best World Cup placements were a fourth place in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and a sixth place in 1990 in the downhill race in Schladming.

After his sporting career, the trained office clerk completed an apprenticeship as a certified trainer at the local trainer academy in Cologne and held the position of general secretary and sports director of the Bobsleigh and Sled Association for Germany (BSD). In 2008, Krauss took over the position of managing director of DSV Marketing GmbH in the German Ski Association .
