Stefan Löwl (* 18th January 1974 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) is a German politician of the CSU . He has been the district administrator of the Dachau district since May 1, 2014 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Ellental in 1993, Löwl trained as a reserve officer. From 1995 he studied law at the University of Augsburg and after a year abroad at the University of Lund ( Sweden ) passed the two state law exams in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Since 2001 he has worked in a law firm in Augsburg and in 2004 he worked as a lawyer in Munich for a few months. At the end of 2004 he switched to civil service and was most recently a professor at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Justice in Hof . Before that, from 2010 to 2013 he was seconded to the Dachau district office as head of the environmental protection department.

Stefan Löwl is married and has three children.

Voluntary work and political career

Stefan Löwl joined the Junge Union in 1990 and the CDU in 1992 . He has been a member of the CSU since 1995 and has held various honorary positions since his studies, for example from 2004 to 2008 as chairman of the Schwaben-Mitte district group in the reservists' association . In 2014 he was elected as the new district administrator of Dachau with just under 50.13 percent of the vote in a runoff election against the state parliament member Martin Güll (SPD). In 2019, Löwl was appointed by the federal government to the specialist commission on the framework conditions for integrability . On March 15, 2020, he was confirmed in office in the first ballot with 55.3% of the vote and a turnout of 59%.
