Stefan Raaff (born September 12, 1967 in Cologne ; † December 10, 2012 in Frechen ) was a German professional boxer in the cruiserweight division .

Career

On September 23, 2006 Raaff won his professional debut by technical knockout in the third round. But in the next fight he suffered his first defeat. Alexander Frenkel knocked him to the ground in the third round and defeated him on points. In the next fight he beat the Belgian favorite Dries Kumpen in the fourth round technically KO. Kumpen had previously won 14 of his 15 fights and was considered a good Belgian boxer.

On August 25, 2007 Raaff was allowed to box in his 5th fight for the "Global Boxing Council Intercontinental" title and won his first title through his success. For the first time, Stefan Raaff had to go over 12 laps. Four months later he won the "Global Boxing Council" world championship belt in cruiserweight. He defeated the German Rene Huebner clearly on points.

In February 2008 he boxed only a draw against a build-up opponent . His opponent had not won a single victory in his 10 fights. In a non-title fight Raaff lost on June 7, 2008 against the Cuban Yoan Pablo Hernández . In the second round Raaff had to go down. For the third round he did not start and the defeat was counted as a knockout defeat. On October 16, 2008 Raaff lost to Luboš Šuda by knockout in the third round and thus ended his career. He lost a comeback attempt on June 25, 2011 against Jonathan Pasi on points.

Aside from boxing, he played in various television productions, including the pseudo-documentary Mitten im Leben .

Raaff was shot and killed on December 10, 2012 by Nasser A. in the Königsdorf district of Frechen .
