Stefan Romberg (born April 5, 1969 in Dortmund ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

education and profession

Romberg graduated from high school in 1988 at the Antonianum Geseke high school . After his military service he studied medicine at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster from 1989 to 1995. He passed his third state examination in 1995. In 1996 and 1997 he worked as an intern at the neurological department of the Raphaelsklinik Münster . From 1997 to 1998 he worked as an assistant doctor at the neurological department of the Marcus Clinic in Bad Driburg and from 1999 to 2003 in Hamm . In 1998 he received his doctorate from the University of Münster. Since 2003 Romberg has been a specialist in neurology and medical psychotherapist at the University Clinic of the Private University of Witten-Herdecke for psychiatry , psychotherapy and psychosomatics at the St. Marien Hospital in Hamm.

Political party

Romberg has been a member of the FDP since 1987. From 1992 to 1996 he was deputy chairman of the FDP district association Soest and from 2000 to 2002 chairman of the FDP city association Drensteinfurt . Since 2006, Stefan Romberg has been a member of the state board of the FDP in North Rhine-Westphalia and deputy chairman of the FDP Münsterland and since 2010 he has been chairman of the FDP district association Warendorf .

MP

Romberg was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2000 to 2012 . From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture, Forests and Nature Conservation. Since 2005 he has been the spokesman for work, health and social affairs as well as for budget control of the FDP parliamentary group in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, since 2010 also a member of the committee for climate protection, the environment, nature conservation, agriculture and consumer protection.

resignation

After Romberg unexpectedly faced a fight candidacy against Henning Höne for the top candidate Münsterland in March 2012 and lost it to the 24-year-old, he resigned from all his offices. Stefan Romberg's successor for constituency 87 was 19-year-old Lars Jehne.
