Stefan Schneider (born November 28, 1980 in Zwenkau ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Born in the GDR, Schneider came to the Swabian town of Pfäffingen after reunification , where he has been playing indoor volleyball at ASV in the regional league since 2000. In 2003 Schneider moved to the second division TV Rottenburg , with whom the middle blocker rose to the Bundesliga in 2006 and 2008 . After a fifth place in 2010, he ended his indoor career.

Career Beach

Schneider has also been playing beach volleyball since 2001, initially at tournaments in southern Germany with Robert Ziegler and other partners. At the side of Christian Eckenweber , Schneider also started on the national Smart Beach Tour in 2007 and became German university champion in Freiburg im Breisgau . After a beach break in 2008, Schneider's new partner in 2009 was Tilo Backhaus , with whom he took 13th place at the German Championships in Timmendorfer Strand . In 2010 he concentrated exclusively on beach volleyball with Thomas Kaczmarek . Kaczmarek / Schneider also competed internationally on CEV tournaments and on the FIVB World Tour . At the European Championships in Berlin they came in 17th and at the German Championships in ninth. In 2011 Schneider started with Stefan Schmeckenbecher mainly at national tournaments.

Stefan Schneider is the son of the former GDR national player Winfried Schneider .
