Thomas Kaczmarek (born January 4, 1986 in Mysłowice , Poland ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player and coach.

Career

Kaczmarek played his first beach tournaments with Sebastian Fuchs in 2003 and won the title at the U18 World Cup in Pattaya . In 2005 he played with Matthias Pompe for a while , but his greatest successes were also with Fuchs this year. The duo won the German A-Youth Championship, came third in the U20 European Championship in Jerusalem and fifth in the U21 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro . In 2006, Kaczmarek competed with Stefan Uhmann at the U21 World Cup in his hometown and repeated the result. In August 2007 he was U23 European champion with Fuchs in Paralimni . In the indoor season that followed, he played for the first time as an outside attacker for TV Rottenburg , which has remained his home club to this day. The then second division team made it to the Bundesliga with Kaczmarek .

DKB Beach Cup 2011

In 2008, Kaczmarek formed a new beach duo with Sebastian Dollinger , who won several national tournaments, but missed the top ten at the German championship . At the U23 European Championship in Espinho he played again with Fuchs and came third. Since the results with Dollinger 2009 turned out to be worse than desired, Kaczmarek chose his Rottenburg teammate Stefan Schneider as a new partner for the 2010 season. The two TVR players took part in the 2010 European Championship in Berlin and were eliminated from the group third in the preliminary round.

In April 2011, Kaczmarek first competed with Alexander Walkenhorst at the Brasília Open . After a few medals at German tournaments, the Rottenburg team won the satellite tournament in Lausanne in June . They then triumphed at the CEV Masters in Niechorze and the Challenger tournament in Varna . In 2012, Kaczmarek / Walkenhorst finished fifth at the European Championships in Scheveningen and won the CEV Masters in Novi Sad .

In the summer of 2012, Thomas Kaczmarek also began a coaching career at BeachZeit , a beach volleyball camp provider that he u. a. supported in Turkey .

In 2013 Thomas Kaczmarek played with Matthias Pompe , Max Betzien and Sebastian Fuchs . He also competed with Fuchs at the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , because his partner Julius Brink had to cancel due to an injury. Despite a victory over the Americans Lucena / Hyden, Fuchs / Kaczmarek were eliminated after the preliminary round. In 2014, Fuchs / Kaczmarek reached the final of the 2014 German championship , which they lost in a tiebreak against Erdmann / Matysik . At the FIVB Open in Paraná and Mangaung , they just missed a podium with fourth place. In August 2015, Fuchs and Kaczmarek separated. In 2016 Kaczmarek played with various partners, including a. with Jonathan Erdmann . Erdmann / Kaczmarek reached the final of the German championship and lost to Böckermann / Flüggen . This was the second time that Kaczmarek became German runner-up.
