Daniel Krug (now Daniel Wigger , born May 6, 1983 in Berlin ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player and beach volleyball trainer.

Active career

Hall

Daniel Krug started with volleyball in his home country at SCC Berlin and VC Olympia Berlin . Later, the 2.01 m tall middle blocker played in the second Bundesliga with Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen , Oststeinbeker SV , FT Adler Kiel and VT Kiel . From 2012 to 2014 Krug played for Kieler TV in the Regionalliga Nord. From January 2015 he played again in the second Bundesliga with the KMTV Eagles Kiel , but returned to Kiel TV in the summer.

Beach

From 2002 to 2006 Krug played successfully with Mischa Urbatzka , especially in the junior division . Her greatest successes as a junior national player were a third place at the U20 European Championship in 2002, a second place at the U21 World Championship in 2003 and a second place at the U23 European Championship in 2004. There was also a ninth place at the FIVB World Tour in Italy and a fifth place at the German Championships in Timmendorfer Strand 2006.

In 2007, Krug again reached fifth place at the side of Thomas Kaczmarek at the German Championships. Other partners from 2007 to 2008 were Florian Huth , Dirk Böckermann and Florian Lüdike .

Coaching career

From 2009 to 2016 Krug worked as a beach volleyball trainer at the Olympic base in Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein .

Private

Daniel Krug has been married to Susanna Wigger since 2017 , with whom he has had a daughter since 2018. He has an older brother and graduated from the Pierre-de-Coubertin-Gymnasium in Berlin in 2002 . He later moved to Kiel , where he was first a professional training for specialists graduated.
