Career indoor volleyball

Sebastian Fuchs started his volleyball career in his hometown in the youth team of MTV Eckernförde . He also played in the Schleswig-Holstein A youth national team and in the regional league teams of MTV Eckernförde and TSV Kronshagen . In 2007/08, Sebastian Fuchs played for the newly promoted Bundesliga club Hamburg Cowboys and, despite the team's relegation, was the second-best newcomer of the season in the German volleyball rankings . Fuchs then switched to league competitor SCC Berlin and was third in the Challenge Cup in 2010 and German runner-up in 2011. In 2011/12 he played for local rivals Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee . In 2012/13, Fuchs played volleys for the second division TSG Solingen . In 2018 he was signed by the second division promoted Kieler TV . During his first use in the away game at SV Lindow-Gransee , Fuchs suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon , so that he was out for the rest of the season.

Career beach volleyball

Sebastian Fuchs played his first beach tournaments with Thomas Kaczmarek in 2003 and won the title at the U18 World Cup in Pattaya . In 2005, 2007 and 2008 Florian Lüdike and in 2006 Nils Rohde were the standard partners on the national beach tour. Internationally, however, Fuchs was always successful with Kaczmarek: In 2005, Fuchs / Kaczmarek won the German A youth championship, came third in the U20 European championship in Jerusalem and fifth in the U21 world championship in Rio de Janeiro . In August 2007, Fuchs / Kaczmarek were U23 European champions in Paralimni . At the U23 European Championship in Espinho , Fuchs played again with Kaczmarek in 2008 and came third. During his professional indoor volleyball time at SCC Berlin , Sebastian Fuchs only played sporadically in the summer with changing partners on the beach. Since 2011 he has played together with Nils Rohde and Florian Lüdike from Kiel. 2013 Olympic champion Julius Brink was his partner. At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , however, Fuchs competed with Thomas Kaczmarek because Brink had to cancel his participation at short notice due to an injury. Despite a victory over the Americans Lucena / Hyden, Fuchs / Kaczmarek were eliminated after the preliminary round. With Marcus Popp , Fuchs finished fourth in the German championship . A year later, Fuchs / Kaczmarek reached the final of the German championship in 2014 , which they lost in a tiebreak against Erdmann / Matysik . At the FIVB Open in Paraná and Mangaung , they just missed a podium with fourth place. In August 2015, Fuchs separated from Kaczmarek and played alongside Stefan Windscheif until July 2016 . In 2017, Eric Stadie was his permanent partner. At the Smart Beach Cup in Duisburg , the two celebrated their first joint tournament victory on the German tour . In September Fuchs / Stadie became German runners-up . In 2018 Fuchs formed a new duo with Mischa Urbatzka . Fuchs / Urbatzka played on the national Techniker Beach Tour and finished ninth in the German championship .
