Stefan Sehler

Stefan Sehler (* 1958 in Nuremberg ) is a German artist .

Life

Sehler attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1979 to 1986 , where he was a master student of Günther Uecker . In his work he combines painting with photography in the area of ​​tension between representation and abstraction. His plexiglass works are compared with Gerhard Richter's mirror images or with the work of Sigmar Polke .

Sehler took part in group exhibitions in Germany , France , Great Britain , Italy , Sweden , Spain , Hungary and the United States . In 2004 he participated in the Biennale of Sydney and in 2008 in the Beijing International Art Biennale . In 2009 he had a solo exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain in Nice.

Sehler lives and works in Berlin .
