Stefan Sehler
Stefan Sehler (* 1958 in Nuremberg ) is a German artist .
Life
Sehler attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1979 to 1986 , where he was a master student of Günther Uecker . In his work he combines painting with photography in the area of tension between representation and abstraction. His plexiglass works are compared with Gerhard Richter's mirror images or with the work of Sigmar Polke .
Sehler took part in group exhibitions in Germany , France , Great Britain , Italy , Sweden , Spain , Hungary and the United States . In 2004 he participated in the Biennale of Sydney and in 2008 in the Beijing International Art Biennale . In 2009 he had a solo exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain in Nice.
Sehler lives and works in Berlin .
