Steffen Graewer

Steffen Graewer (born April 10, 1968 in Rostock ) is a German pianist.

Life

Graewer began taking classical piano lessons at the age of four after attending a piano concert. Between 1983 and 2004 he was involved in various classical , rock and jazz projects. He played u. a. with Gunter Hampel , Ed Thigpen , Anders Bergcrantz , Tomas Franck , Jesper Bodilsen , Morten Lund and Jens Winther . Between 1993 and 2016 he was also a lecturer at the Rostock University of Music and Drama , where he taught composition, music history and ear training. He founded the in 1998LandesJugendJazzOrchester Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and was with it a two-time prize winner at the first national youth jazz meeting .

After participating in the CD productions Save the Best and Quiet Nights , he released the debut album Venus in 2008 , which he recorded with the Steffen Graewer Trio, which also consisted of Scott White and Kay Lübke .
