politics

Before joining the AfD, Kotré was a member of the FDP .

In 2014, Kotré took the view that “from a statistical point of view” there was a clear connection between increased immigration and the crime rate . In 2017 he described the current immigration policy as a “roadmap to foreign infiltration ”. He therefore fears an instability of the state and civil war-like conditions.

After the 2017 federal election , Kotré entered the Bundestag as a member of the AfD via the Brandenburg state list . There he is the economic and energy policy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group , spokesman for the Brandenburg state group, member of the committee for economy and energy , deputy member of the finance committee , as well as the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth and deputy chairman of the German-South Caucasian parliamentary group .

Kotré is one of those AfD members of the Bundestag who, according to research by Zeit Online , employ people with an anti- constitutional and "clearly right-wing to right-wing extremist background".
