Steffen Mezger

Steffen Mezger (born December 6, 1978 in Heilbronn ) is a German chef .

Career

After completing his apprenticeship, Mezger moved to the Alte Amtshaus in Ailringen in 1998 and to Lothar Eiermann's Wald- und Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe in 2001 , where he last worked as sous-chef. During this time he also completed several internships, including in the Heinz Winkler residence in Aschau ( 3-star at the time ) and in Tantris with Hans Haas in Munich.

From 2004 to 2014 he was head chef at the Bayerischer Hof in Munich, first in the Garden Restaurant and since September 2009 in the Atelier , which was awarded a star in the 2011 Michelin Guide . The Gault Millau awarded 17 points.

He has been head chef at the Heinz Winkler residence since May 2014 , which has since been awarded two Michelin stars.
