Steffen Rainer Schwarzkopf (born March 13, 1973 in Berlin ) is a German journalist , editor and reporter .

Life

From 1992 to 1994 Schwarzkopf volunteered at Radio Hundert, 6 , where he then worked as an editor. From 1995 to 1997 he was an editor at the Berlin local television broadcaster IA Fernsehen , later chief reporter. In 1997 he moved to the Sat.1 -Landesstudio Berlin as an editor and reporter . From 1998 he was a reporter for Sat.1 Nachrichten and from 2001 also reported for WELT (formerly N24) from crisis areas. Since May 2016 he has been director of the studio in Washington, DC for WELT

In 2008 , Schwarzkopf was nominated for the German Television Award in the “Best Foreign Reporter” category for his reporting from Afghanistan and Kenya . In 2013 he received a nomination for the Liberty Award .

Schwarzkopf lives in Maryland , USA .
