The Steiermarkbahn Transport and Logistics GmbH (StB TL) is an Austrian railway company based in Graz . The purpose of the business is to carry out the transport of people and goods by rail.
History and creation
The company was founded on July 19, 2000. The 100% shareholder is Steiermarkbahn und Bus GmbH , which is owned by the State of Styria. The paid-in share capital is 250,000 euros. In 2018, parts of the Styrian runways were brought into the Steiermarkbahn and the company was restructured. The operational business on the Austrian rail network started in 2002. From 2003 to 2017, the Touareg Express , a block train with which car parts are transported from Austria to Slovakia , was successfully handled with partners . In addition, numerous other transports are carried out on the infrastructure of the Steiermärkische Landesbahnen, on the Austrian main axes and in some cases in neighboring countries.
Vehicle inventory
The Steiermarkbahn has two multi-system electric locomotives of the 1216 series (" Taurus ") and five electric locomotives of the 1142 series . Diesel shunting locomotives of the DB series V 100 , including the earlier 2048 of the ÖBB, as well as four diesel-hydraulic standard gauge locomotives from the manufacturer Gmeinder (D3, D4, D5, D6) and three diesel-hydraulic standard gauge Siemens ER20 locomotives complete the locomotive fleet. In addition, locomotives from cooperation partners and locomotive rental companies are used.
The locomotives belonging to the Steiermarkbahn had a striking design. The vehicles in the Styrian national colors (white - green) are also marked with the Styrian coat of arms - a panther. With the restructuring of the StB in June 2018, a new design in the colors pure white, pure green and steel blue was introduced.
In addition, StB TL owns around 400 of its own freight wagons of various types, such as open freight wagons " Eaos ", container wagons and bulk goods transport wagons .
Range of services
The Steiermarkbahn is primarily active in the connecting railway service and in the shunting as well as in the block train traffic in Austria and the surrounding EU area. In addition to the activities in the cargo area, the Steiermarkbahn also carries out passenger traffic and special trips on the ÖBB network.
In addition, special transports are handled and freight wagons, locomotives and personnel are provided for other railway companies .
