Alexander Petrovich Skugarew ( Russian Александр Петрович Скугарев ; born March 13, 1975 in Angarsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with Buran Voronezh in the Pervaya League .
Career
Alexander Skugarew began his career as an ice hockey player with Amur Khabarovsk , for which he was active in the Russian Super League from 1997 to 2000 . He then moved to their league rivals Lokomotiv Yaroslavl , with whom he became Russian champions in 2002 and 2003 . Despite the success, the attacker left the club again and played in the following two years for HK Lada Tolyatti , with whom he was runner-up in the 2004/05 season. He then joined the reigning champions HK Dynamo Moscow , with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup at European level in 2006 , where he prevailed in the final with Dynamo against Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM-liiga . In the summer of 2007 Skugarew signed with Dynamo's city rivals HK CSKA Moscow , with whom he also began the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . During the season, however, he moved to his Kazakh league rivals Barys Astana .
After a year break from ice hockey, Skugarew joined for the 2010/11 season Yermak Angarsk from the new second Russian division, the Vysschaya Hockey League . Shortly before the end of the season he moved to his league rivals Krylya Sowetow Moscow . After Krylja Sowetow's professional division had been dissolved, he signed a contract with Buran Voronezh in the third-class Pervaya League for the 2011/12 season .

For Russia Skugarew took part in the 2004 World Cup, in which he finished tenth with his team.
