Stein Henrik Tuff (born August 16, 1974 in Trondheim ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Tuff, who started for Selsbakk IF , began his international career in 1992 in the newly created Ski Jumping Continental Cup (COC). In his first season he already achieved 27th place in the overall COC ranking with 31 points. In the following 1993/94 season, he was able to jump to 15th place overall with 304 points. Due to this success, Tuff made his debut in the ski jumping world cup on January 15, 1994 . In jumping in Liberec he reached the 44th place. Then he was part of the squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . There the then 19-year-old Tuff could jump on the 43rd place of the large hill. In his first World Cup after the games in Thunder Bay , he was able to achieve 3rd place in team jumping together with Lasse Ottesen , Øyvind Berg and Espen Bredesen and was on the podium in a World Cup competition for the first time in his career.

At the Norwegian Championships in Meldal in 1996 , Tuff won the silver medal on the large hill behind Espen Bredesen . Shortly afterwards he finished the 1995/96 Continental Cup season with 878 points in 1st place in the overall standings. It was his biggest success in the series. Subsequently, he could not achieve greater success in either the Continental Cup or the World Cup. He reached his highest ranking with the 10th place in his penultimate World Cup competition on February 28, 1996 in Kuopio . After two more years in the Continental Cup, he ended his active ski jumping career in 1998.
