Steinar riding (born May 10, 1963 ) is a Norwegian politician of the Christian Democratic Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2017 .

Life

Riding studied teaching in Volda and he worked as a teacher in the municipality of Averøy . There he was a member of the local parliament from 2011. He also became a member of the Fylkesting of Møre og Romsdal Province .

In the 2017 general election , riding moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time . He ran in the 2001 , 2009 and 2013 elections without getting a seat. During this time, however, he was deployed as a so-called vararean representative , i.e. as a substitute member of parliament. He now represents the constituency of Møre og Romsdal in Parliament and is a member of the Economic Committee. In January 2020 he announced that he did not want to run again in the 2021 storting election.
