The Steinbach is a left tributary of the Mangfall in Upper Bavaria .

The Steinbach rises on the southern slopes of the Taubenberg near Oberwarngau in Upper Bavaria .

The upper course near Bergham is also known as a stone trench, depending on the map material. The stream initially flows at the southern foot of the Taubenberg for a few kilometers to the east and joins the Sulzgraben. In the further course the Steinbach makes a bend to the north near the hamlet of Kilian, unites with the Farnbach and then flows into the Mangfall .

The valley of the Steinbach is a wide sloping basin with the character of a fen . It is under nature protection as part of the FFH area Taubenberg . The main reason for this is the Fadenseggen mountain pine moor.
