The Steinbach is a 3 km long tributary of the Selz .
course
The Steinbach arises from the (underground) drains of several wells in the center of Offenheim . To the outskirts it flows through an allotment garden towards the Alzey district of Weinheim . Between Offenheim and Weinheim it takes up the much longer Weidenbach from the left. This arises from several (most of the time waterless) trenches below Bechenheim . It flows underground through Weinheim and only emerges behind the playground (near the St. Gallus House) to take in the Riedbach coming from the left . Shortly after Weinheim, the Steinbach flows into the Selz at the Poppenschänke . This carries about the same amount of water as the Steinbach .
