Weissenfelde lies on the left bank of the Steinbeck and Ruschwedel on the right . The two railway lines Bremerhaven – Buxtehude and Harsefeld – Buchholz cross the stream. At Ruschwedel the Steinbeck continues to the northwest and touches Rutenbeck. The stream flows through the Steinbeckforst and flows northeast of Harsefeld into the floodplain.

The water of the floodplain flows into the North Sea via Lühe and Elbe .
