Sten Ahlner
Sten "Stabben" Ahlner (born December 7, 1915 in Stockholm ; † 1997 ) was a Swedish sports official . The journalist worked for Svenska Ishockeyförbundet and Svenska Fotbollförbundet . He gained national fame as a soccer referee when he directed the group game between Argentina and Northern Ireland during the soccer World Cup finals in 1958 in his home country , which the South Americans won with a 3-1 victory.
Ahlner published various sports books, including a chronicle for the 70th birthday of his home club Hammarby IF in 1967.
