Stephan Knösel
Stephan Knösel (born October 28, 1970 ) is a German writer for young people and screenwriter.
Life
Stephan Knösel worked in a video store for years after graduating from high school and serving in the armed forces. On the side he wrote and made short films until he received a scholarship from the script workshop at the University of Television and Film in Munich in 2000 . He has been working as a freelance screenwriter since 2001, primarily for Bayerischer Rundfunk .
His first novel “Echte Cowboys” was published in 2010. He received a literary grant from the City of Munich, the Bavarian Art Prize for Literature and the 2011 Kranichsteiner youth literature grant.
Knösel lives in Munich with his wife and two sons.
