Maurus vom Scheidt (born on May 25, 1973 in Munich ) is a German director and screenwriter .

Life

Vom Scheidt initially trained as a photographer in 1992 . He then worked in various functions on advertising, short film and music video productions. In 1997 he began studying production and media management at the Munich University of Television and Film (HFF) ; In 1999 he switched to the directing course.

Scheidts' thesis, the film Cuba , was awarded various audience prizes (Landshuter Kurzfilmtage, Salzburger Kurzfilmfest, shorts welcome) and the Starter Film Prize of the City of Munich for the best young directors.

Von Scheidt began working as a director of commercials during his training at the HFF. In 2005 he was nominated for the Young Directors Award of the Cannes advertising film festival . From 2007 he concentrated on the field of "advertising", where his work won numerous awards.

In 2006 vom Scheidt made his feature film debut with How light tastes based on the novel by Friedrich Ani . In 2015 he directed the feature film “One for all, everything in the bucket” for ZDF (book: Stefan Vögel).
