Stephan Kotzmanek

Stephan Kotzmanek (born July 11, 1893 in Sopron , † April 19, 1969 in Eisenstadt ) was an Austrian municipal mayor and politician ( ÖVP ). Kotzmanek was married and a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Stephan Kotzmanek was born as the son of the carter Matthias Kotzmanek. He attended elementary school and then switched to the upper commercial school in Sopron, which he completed with the Matura. Kotzmanek became a municipal administrator in Großwarasdorf and in 1931 took over the function of district leader of the Heimwehr in Oberpullendorf. During the time of Austrofascism, Kotzmanek was a member of the state parliament in Burgenland from November 11, 1934 to March 12, 1938. He was also district leader of the Fatherland Front from 1934 to 1938 and was in political custody between 1938 and 1939. A professional and state ban was subsequently pronounced against Kotzmanek. Kotzmanek went to the Sudetenland until 1940 and worked as an insurance officer in Vienna from 1940 to 1941. After the Second World War, Kotzmanek became ÖVP district chairman in Oberpullendorf in 1945 and was again a member of the state parliament between January 4, 1946 and November 4, 1949. From 1953 Kotzmanek was a senior official at the Burgenland State Government in Eisenstadt (community auditing department). He retired on December 31, 1958 and was buried in the Bad Sauerbrunn cemetery after his death .
