Stephen Kiogora

Stephen Kiogora also Baba Kiogora (born November 10, 1974 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

In 2003 he took third place in the Cologne Marathon . In 2004 he took part in the Boston Marathon as a pacemaker for his training partner Timothy Cherigat . While Cherigat won the race, Kiogora decided to run through and finished fourth. In the same year he ran, now on his own, as seventh of the Chicago Marathon with 2:09:21 his best time.

In December 2005 he won the Las Vegas Marathon , in 2006 he finished second in the New York City Marathon and in 2007 third in the Boston Marathon .

Stephen "Baba" Kiogora is the first internationally successful runner from the city of Meru , which lies northeast of the Mount Kenya massif . He trains with Dieter Hogen's KIMbia group. He is employed in the Kenyan army and owns a small coffee farm.
