Timothy Cherigat (born December 29, 1976 in Chepkorio, South Keiyo, Elgeyo-Marakwet County ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

In 2002 he ran the fastest time on Spanish soil in the San Sebastián Marathon with 2:09:34 hours (as of November 2009).

In 2003 he finished fourth in the Boston Marathon , and a year later he won the race in 2:10:37 hours in temperatures above 30 ° C. At the 2004 New York Marathon , he took third place.

Cherigat is a corporal in the Kenyan Navy . He has set up a gas station in his hometown of Chepkorio near Eldoret .
