The Stetind is a 2020 moh. high mountain in the Jotunheimen Mountains in Norway .
It marks the border between the municipalities of Lom (Fylke Innlandet ) and Luster (Fylke Vestland ). The west side of the Stetind is characterized by steep rock faces, all other sides are much flatter. About one kilometer to the south lies a 1985 m high nameless secondary summit . In the southwest and southeast on the slopes of the mountain there are two smaller firn fields .
The most committed path leads from the east of the mountain lake Leirvatnet located refuge Leirvassbu (about 1400 m ) through the Gravdalen south past the 1,885 m high Stehoe over the 1985 m high pre-peak and the Connection Ridge to the highest point of the Stetind. This tour is considered one of the most popular hikes in the area. The mountain can also be easily reached from the east.
The Stetind was first climbed on August 1, 1890 by Carl Christian Hall and Matias Soggemoen .
