Stetten is a district of the municipality of Achstetten in the district of Biberach in Baden-Württemberg . The village lies on the edge of the elevated terrace to the right of the Rottal , about one and a half kilometers north of Achstetten.
history
The place is mentioned for the first time in 1181. In 1385 a castle was at least partially owned by the Lords of Freyberg . In 1385 they sold half of it to the Ulm citizen Peter Wagner, who in 1386/87 sold the entire village to the Wiblingen monastery . Through the secularization of the monastery, Bronnen came to Bavaria in 1803 and to Württemberg in 1806 , where the place was subordinated to the Oberamt Biberach and in 1810 to the Oberamt Wiblingen .
During the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the formerly independent municipality of Stetten was incorporated into the municipality of Achstetten on January 1, 1975.
coat of arms
Description of the coat of arms : "In blue under a four-spoke, eight-blade silver mill wheel, a silver fish."
Interpretation of the coat of arms: “The mill wheel refers to the cooperative mill and its agricultural catchment area. This used to be the largest commercial enterprise in the municipality. The fish in silver indicates the temporarily important fishery and the numerous fish ponds on the Rot. "(Text from the municipality of Achstetten)
